Catholic Women's

 League

The Annual Diocesan Convention of the Catholic Women's League was held this year in Yellowknife.  Honoured especially at this year's Convention was Annette Lemay.

Born September 19, 1922, Annette came to the North in 1952 to join her fiance, Aurel Lemay, who came ahead to work in one of the gold mines in Yellowknife.  They were married on May 17, 1952 in Old Town.

Annette has been active in the Catholic Women's League for over 30 years, always willing to do anything for the League.  She has helped out in the Flea Market for over 24 years doing a variety of tasks like washing, ironing and repairing flea market items.  Since his retirement from the mines, her husband, Aurel, has devoted his time and energy to helping her out with the Flea Market.

Annette has always worked hard behind the scenes and is very dependable and hard working.
